Ugh… how many times have we read a guide titled “How to SURVIVE” during the holidays. Like they should be some sort of terrible situation that we are trudging through.
Let’s be honest—most holiday survival guides focus on what we should eat and drink, usually encouraging us to consume less. Or sometimes more, followed by less, to “balance out” the holiday indulgence. It’s hard to keep up.
Leaving aside the peculiar notion of survival as nutritional deprivation, this strikes me as a pretty rough way to treat yourself. What are we surviving, really?

Yes, we all indulge during the holidays and we should do so because it is what gives us warm and happy feelings. It is what holiday parties and gatherings are all about.
